State budget committee expands drug courts and treatment programs

The Legislature's budget committee voted Thursday to add $ 1.5 million a year for county drug courts and treatment programs to help divert people from jail or prison. The proposal by Rep. Daniel LeMahieu, R-Cascade, passed on a unanimous 16-0 vote.
