Visitation Rights in Georgia?
Question by : visitation rights in georgia?
3 years ago my sons bio father told me to f-off, don’t contact him, his fmaily or no one, called the cops on me and had them remove me and my son from his moms house and cut me off comppletely. I moved on solely supported my son and now 3 years later am preparing to marry. He recently got out of prison for some drug related issues, and has been following my family around like he’s crazy. He found out through my dad that I am getting married and is now harrassing me (found me on facebook, sending me emails, etc). I agreed to meet him twice thinking he was sincere about seeing my son. He wasn’t, showing up and then failing to the other times and didnt think twice about offering any financial support. It has now been 7 months since he’s seen my son, and3 months since he last asked to. I had been in the plans of getting his parental rights removed, he doesn’t support him, abandoned him, and has a long history of drug abuse. He is currently on parole, banned from my county by the judge as a part of his case, and is being financially supported by his family. What are the chances of this working in my favor. My fiance had planned to adopt my son, he is the only father he knows, even after seeing his bio father recently he has no idea who he is and unsure around him.

Looks like everything should go in your favor. It also sounds like he would be ok with giving up his parental rights. If he doesn’t, he would owe you back support or probably go to jail for not paying. It would be easier for him to just give him up. It’s sad, but probably better for your son. He needs someone who will be around for him.
