Gerard Butler Checks Into Rehab For Substance Abuse – The 300 star admitted himself to the Betty Ford Center three weeks ago for a reported addiction to pain killers. GERARD BUTLER IS IN REHAB… THE 300 STAR CHECKED HIMSELF IN TO THE BETTY FORD CLINIC 3 WEEKS AGO FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES… JUST LAST MONTH, HE TOLD THE MAGAZINE, “THE RED BULLETIN” HOW HE USED TO DRINK UNTIL HE BLACKED OUT. THEN IN DECEMBER, THE SCOTTISH ACTOR WAS HOSPITALIZED AFTER A SURFING ACCIDENT, WHILE SHOOTING HIS UPCOMING MOVIE, “OF MEN AND MAVERICKS.” AND THAT ONLY MADE THE PROBLEM WORSE. SOURCES TELL THE WEBSITE, “BUTLER REALIZED HE WAS RELYING TOO MUCH ON PRESCRIPTION DRUGS AND DECIDED TO HEAD OFF A FULL-BLOWN ADDICTION BY ENTERING BETTY FORD THREE WEEKS AGO.” HE’LL REPORTEDLY LEAVE THE FACILITY FRIDAY.
